Overview

Introduction

This higher level, one day workshop builds on the knowledge introduced in Materiel & Financial Accounting On-line Training (MFAOLT) and has been designed to ensure that Supply Chain Managers (Band C grade and above) achieve the appropriate level of knowledge to address specific areas within the Management of Material and Accounting. Completion of this training is mandatory for all Supply Chain Management staff and will be required to attain or retain both the Inventory Management Licence and similarly the Inventory Management Certificate of Competence.

Aim

To ensure that all Band C/B Supply Chain Managers achieve the appropriate level of functional competence required for Materiel and Financial Accounting of the Defence Inventory by Supply Chain Management practitioners. Completion of this training is mandatory for all Supply Chain Management staff at Band C & B and will be required to attain or retain both the Inventory Management Licence and similarly the Inventory Management Certificate of Competence.

Objectives

By the end of the course students will be able to:

  • Recall the key issues behind the current MOD Material and Financial (MFA) training requirement;
  • Identify the key stakeholders and their roles and responsibilities;
  • Demonstrate the benefits of applying the new MA performance procedures including the identification of a remedial action plan;
  • Design and communicate an organisation structure and ways of working with the PT to manage the key elements of MFA activity over the CADMID cycle;
  • Recall, debate and discuss the roles and required relationships with the wider E2E SC stakeholder community.

Materiel & Financial Accounting On-Line Training (MFAOLT), including successful completion of the post test.

For Band E/D SCMs completion of the MFA-B course before attending the MFA-A as a development opportunity.
