Overview

Introduction

This course takes staff through the processes required to generate a successful Investment Appraisal.  Different costing techniques are introduced with the main focus being on providing value for money solutions. 

Aim

To enable participants involved in the process of Investment Appraisal the opportunity to identify, collate and evaluate relevant financial and non-financial data used during the decision-making process. 

Objectives

By the end of the module, students will be able to:  

- Explain the relevance of each process involved in the Investment Appraisal system, placing particular emphasis on option analysis, risk and benefits tracking;

- Explain why we do appraisal;

- Explain what processes we follow;

- Explain the link between a Business case and an Investment Appraisal;  

- Prepare for a Project Evaluation.
